4A classification—third largest school classification in the MHSAA system.
From Archery, to Cross-Country, to Football and beyond, we have plenty of
sporting and extracurricular activity opportunities, on very successful teams
with tradition and expectation of future success.
Our graduates can be found at all of the surrounding four year Universities.
Our Vocational-Technical Center is one of the best in the state, allowing for
students who so choose to follow a technological based career track to do so
with excellent instructional expertise, equipment, introductory hands-on
experience that provides them with an excellent beginning foundation.

Higher Education Institutes
Lawrence County does not house any higher education institutes itself, but there is no shortage of opportunity here. We are in the middle of it all and are less than a 1 to 1.5 hour drive from some of the major public and private college and universities in the state of Mississippi, including University of Southern Mississippi, Jackson State University, William Carey University, Mississippi College, Alcorn State University (a land grant university), Belhaven University, and Millsaps College.
Not only are we very accessible to colleges and universities, but our location allows us easy commutes to several community and junior colleges, such as Copiah Lincoln Community College, Jones County Junior College, Southwest Mississippi Community College, Hinds Community College, and Pear River Community College. Many of which will offer no cost/low cost worksite training for residents, companies, and industries in neighboring counties and communities.
